Concrete effect wall: a wall that looks betonlooking good!
You’re considering a concrete effect wall or Concrete effect paint in your home, but you’re still unsure. Is the effect too bold, will it suit my interior, and which colour should I choose? These are questions we hear often. That’s why we show you here why a concrete effect wall has so many advantages, and how you can give it your own personal touch – from the right surface preparation to techniques and colour selection.
The advantages of a Concrete effect wall
We sometimes scroll through property websites, just to have a look inside other homes. Okay, guilty. What stands out: many walls are white. Timeless, but often a missed opportunity. A concrete effect wall brings warmth and character into a space.
The biggest advantage is the warmth a concrete effect wall radiates. Whether you choose a light beige shade with a soft concrete effect or a deeper, warmer colour, the result is always atmospheric. Customers often tell us they found it exciting to apply the paint, but were pleasantly surprised afterwards:
“The colours change with the daylight, and our space feels like a warm cocoon. We should have done this sooner.”
Another advantage is that our paint types are easy to apply yourself. You don’t necessarily need a painter or professional – unless you simply don’t feel like doing it.
All our paint types are ecological, so you can make your colour choice with peace of mind.
How do you create a concrete effect wall?
For all textured paint types, you apply them easily with our concrete effect brush 3×14 cm. You always work in two layers, and you decide how intense the effect will be.
Do you prefer a calm concrete effect? Then make long, sweeping strokes with the brush.
If you’d rather go for a more lively effect, use a smaller brush or dilute the paint with some extra water. This makes the result more transparent and varied, giving your wall even more depth.
Do it yourself or hire a professional?
The good thing is: you don’t need a painter. You can easily create a concrete effect wall yourself. But if you don’t feel like picking up the brush, a professional can of course do it for you. Either way, with our paint you always choose an ecological base and a wall that looks betonlooking good.
Which surfaces work with Concrete effect paint?
You’ll achieve the best result on a smooth wall, such as fine plaster or plasterboard prepared with our EcoPrimer.
Do you have a wall with textured plaster or sprayed plaster? No problem – you can apply our paint on those surfaces as well. Use EcoPrimer coarse for that. Just keep in mind that consumption will be a bit higher on these types of structures because the paint absorbs deeper into the surface.
