We are regularly asked whether our concrete look finishes are also suitable for the bathroom or even for outdoor use. A concrete look can be applied in almost any space, although not every product is suitable for every situation. That’s why we are happy to give honest advice on which products best suit the space in which you want to use them.

When using Concrete Effect paint or Lime Paint in the bathroom, it is important to know that these products are decorative and not waterproof. In this case, use EcoPrimer Coarse as the base layer, as it can absorb moisture better. These types of paint are not suitable for the shower area or places that regularly get wet or dirty, as they cannot be wiped clean with a cloth.

If you want a fully waterproof finish, microcement (also known as Beton Ciré) is the best choice. This is a ready-to-use plaster paste with a protective coating, suitable for the entire bathroom and shower walls.

A concrete look is also possible outdoors. For this, use the Structure Paint in combination with EcoPrimer Coarse. The paint adheres well to solid substrates such as exterior plaster or brick and creates a robust appearance. On brick, it produces an effect similar to limewash or slurry coating, resulting in a natural and lively finish.
