You can use it with confidence, knowing you're contributing to a more sustainable living environment. An added benefit of our primer is its excellent adhesion, making it an ideal base for our paints and plasters. Whether you’re working with freshly plastered walls or previously painted surfaces, EcoPrimer delivers outstanding performance in both cases.
For best results on plastered walls, we recommend applying two coats of EcoPrimer. This effectively reduces the absorbency of the plastered surface. Our primer penetrates deep into the structure of the wall, minimising paint absorption. As a result, you’ll need less paint to achieve full coverage saving on costs and ensuring a smooth finish. From our experience, applying EcoPrimer to freshly plastered walls can be challenging due to the surface’s high absorbency. To make application easier, we recommend diluting the EcoPrimer with up to 20% water.
EcoPrimer is essential for the optimal application of several of our products, including Concrete effect paint, Concrete effect paint plus, Lime paint, Lime paint plus, Texture paint and Loam plaster. This depends on the location and type of surface you want to apply the Concrete effect paint to. If you want to use the paint outdoors on a solid surface such as a concrete wall or brick, you need the EcoPrimer coarse. This is the only primer in our range suitable for outdoor use. For textured walls, such as spachtelputz or spack, the EcoPrimer coarse is also ideal because it slightly fills small imperfections. For smooth interior walls or wooden surfaces, we recommend the standard EcoPrimer for optimal adhesion of the Concrete effect paint.
