Can I apply microcement to IKEA furniture?
Yes, many IKEA furniture pieces are suitable. First remove the plastic or melamine top layer to ensure the microcement adheres properly.
Which surfaces are suitable for microcement?
Microcement adheres extremely well to MDF, moisture resistant MDF, oak, teak, mango wood and birch plywood. Always make sure the surface is clean and thoroughly sanded.
Is microcement suitable for a dining table or kitchen worktop?
Yes. Our microcement Furniture kit includes two layers of protective microcement coating. This provides excellent protection for your table, kitchen worktop or furniture against dirt, grease and everyday use.
Microcement is, however, a natural product. Avoid prolonged contact with rust, harsh cleaning products and highly acidic substances. This will help keep your microcement furniture looking beautiful for years to come.
How much microcement do I need for my furniture?
Our microcement Furniture kit is sold per m². You will receive all the products needed to complete your furniture, including Fix Primer, microcement and two coats of protective coating. Just remember to add a filling knife to your order, so you can get started straight away.
Can my furniture warp?
When working with wood or MDF, apply microcement to the entire piece of furniture, including the underside and edges. This distributes tension evenly and reduces the risk of warping. This is particularly important for tabletops and larger panels.
